Baroque Festival Concert
Baroque music describes a style of European classical music extending from the year 1600 to approximately 1750. It forms a major portion of the classical music canon being widely studied, performed and listened to by enthusiasts today.
Among its composers are Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frederic Handel, Henry Purcell, A. Corelli, and others. These composers made changes in musical notation along with developing new instrumental playing techniques. It may have been the most influential period for classical music to date.
The 2017 Baroque Music Festival Concert will once again feature many extremely talented artists and professional ensembles. The concert will be held in the autumn this year – date and location to be announced soon.
This event features performers to include brass, solo voice, choral ensemble, strings performance in solo and in ensemble and more. There will be an afterglow immediately following the concert, providing you an opportunity to meet the performers. The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will donation will be accepted and used to help support and promote this concert and the arts in the Royal Oak community.
